FAQs
Have questions? We have answers!
Right now, we do not have any pre-printed card designs, so once you connect with us, we'll either work with you to create one that will fit your needs, or if you're only sending one card, we'll help you connect with an artist that has designs available or can create a custom one for you.
The front of the card is pre-printed, but everything inside is handwritten and handdrawn by an artist. No digital artwork allowed!
Yes! The only thing we print is the design on the front of the card, and our info and Artist credit on back of the card. Everything else from the inside of the card to the envelopes are done completely by hand, so each piece truly is original.
In working with USPS, they have suggested keeping the lower half of the envelope clean to aid in delivery! When the machines scan for the address, any flourishes that are picked up could have the card flagged for hand sorting, which will delay delivery, or even cause the system to flag the address as incorrect.
Primarily, we use markers and pens for all the writing and designs! Each artist has their own preference with tools, but we're mostly frequently using Tombow Brush Pens, Fudenoske Brush Pens, STABILO Pen 68 and point 88, Staedtler Felt Pens, and Micron and unipin fineliners.
In some cases! For larger orders, we will outsource printing to a trusted company, but for smaller orders, or cases when a larger variety of a design is needed, we will print those in house.
Some of our designs are created by our founders, Christen and Tani, however, we work with many independent artists to curate a beautiful collection of professionally designed cards for you to choose from.
Most of the time, yes. It will depend on the size and complexity of your project, but in most cases, we can accommodate a short timeline for an additional fee.
There are rare circumstances in which we can offer a discount, such as a company providing pre-printed cards for us to write on. Otherwise, we currently can not offer any discounts.
However, we still may be able to work within your budget with many viable options! Please reach out to us at hello@paperphoenixcollective.com so we can assist you.
We like to think of our service as something similar to serving a large party at a restaurant. The larger the order, the more time, manpower, and project management is required. Instead of charging an additional service fee for large orders like many restaurants do, we strive to keep our prices fair so both clients and Writers are happy with their investment and compensation, respectively. Please know that your investment supports a small business and many independent artists, and is greatly appreciated!
We are primarily operating out of California and Missouri, however our team of artists are located all around the United States!
