TANI MITSCH

I have been working as a graphic designer for over 10 years, with a passion for print and packaging design. I have worked at both small design firms and large companies like Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, but decided to start my own event stationery and calligraphy business where I worked with so many wonderful clients including Hormel/Columbus Foods®, including Christina Scalera®, LinkedIn, Letters by Shells, and Sakura® of America.

However, I am mostly known for being a huge foodie! I can usually be found experimenting in the kitchen and exploring all kinds of new foods. I love baking and cooking (especially Japanese food, pasta dishes, sourdough, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate cakes)! I basically love eating everything :D

I try to honor my values in everything I do, and love serving the world by providing comfort and delight to others via creativity in many different forms. I deeply care about the wellbeing of others and try to approach life from a place of empathy and gratitude.

CHRISTEN BLAKE

I have been taking photos, drawing, and writing since I was a kid, and those passions have never left me! I currently work from home whilst homeschooling my daughter. Here's everything I am currently involved with!

I am a music photographer and hope to turn it into a small magazine one of these days. I am also a freelance copy editor, handling everything from science fiction, to horror, to informational e-books, to articles.

I wear many hats, which works. I really like hats.

What is Paper Phoenix?

Founded by Tani Mitsch and Christen Blake, Paper Phoenix Collective was born from the closing of the handwritten card company we had both worked for. Through years of working with clients directly on their accounts and with offering support, we've seen first-hand the impact handwritten cards have made. We wanted to continue offering this in some way, and soon Paper Phoenix Collective unfolded in the most unexpected way.

OUR JOURNEY
When we received the news the company we worked for was closing in June 2024, we were heart-broken! We worked day and night (literally) through the summer, through our final days at our jobs, and through long-planned vacations, to get Paper Phoenix Collective up and running. Before our official launch, we were already working with clients on our first projects as a company, and now can't wait to get started with you!
